Resolved, the House of _______ concurring, That this 79th General Convention express its deep regret for our lack of sensitivity and hospitality to our Latino and Latina siblings in Christ. We further regret that some resolutions were not translated prior to the hearings and that oral interpretation was not provided in committee hearings, specifically in the hearing of Committee 13 on resolutions A085, A086, and B012; and be it further

Resolved, That, understanding the challenges involved in the process of developing committees, the General Convention acknowledge the deficient makeup of Committee 13 in relation to diversity, including, but not limited to, the lack of native Spanish speakers, and strongly urges that the Presiding Bishop and the President of the House of Deputies pay close attention to this matter; and be it further

Resolved, That this 79th General Convention direct that the Standing Commission on Structure, Governance, Constitution, and Canons review the Joint Rules of Order and propose revisions to the 80th General Convention that make provision for translation of all resolutions prior to hearings on those resolutions and oral interpretation in committee hearings; and be it further

Resolved, That the Joint Commission on Planning and Arrangements and The General Convention Office make provision for translation of all resolutions prior to hearings on those resolutions and oral interpretation in committee hearings for the 80th General Convention.
