D086 Inclusive Practices for Diverse Representation

Resolved, the House of __________ concurring, That a Task Force or similar body be formed to develop a scheduling system for committees, commissions and boards (CCAB) to be more inclusive of individuals, primarily laity, who are in school or employed in positions where time off from work is limited or costly, people with travel / geographic constraints, and for families who face childcare challenges.

Explanation

It is our desire that all ministries have diverse demographic participation e.g. age, race/ethnicity, family composition and socioeconomic status. Scheduling meetings that accommodate different careers and jobs, racial/ethnic diversity, geographical regions, and lifestyles would increase and expand representation of leadership in the church.
